I'm still here! {so are freebies!}

I am so sorry that I was gone so long. Atty got put in the hospital for weight loss (he's only 7 weeks, that's kind of a big deal) and even though they had web TV, I couldn't log in to Blogger.com! It really sucked. Anyway, he gained the weight back, then some, and now we are home. I have a freebie for you that I made as a request- it's a set of gelly letters in pink. They are made with the freeware font "Heartbreaker".

A brother's worst nightmare...

So my sister in laws kids are up for adoption. All 6 of my nieces and nephews. You wanna talk about heartbreak? So my husband and I are trying to get the 4 littler ones, and my in laws are trying to get the 2 oldest. My sister in law is insisting that she could still get them back, yadda yadda yadda. She's been saying that since February of last year, when they were put into foster care. We are exhausting every avenue possible before we give up. What's really upsetting about it is she knew they were gonna go up for adoption, was asked for names and numbers of people to contact to let them know (family/friends) and none of our names were given. When I called the adoption agency earlier because I found the 2 of the kids on their website, they were VERY surprised that there was more family. I mean, she didn't give them her own brother's name for the list. And she basically told me that she would rather a total stranger get her kids than her own mother. Wow. Her mother is a wonderful person, and did her absolute best in raising her own kids, so why should she do any different with her grandkids? People are so selfish! My father in law sent her a text message about an hour after I got off of the phone with her today, and got a message claiming to be someone else, that she had given them the cell phone a few weeks ago, and they hadn't seen her since. Rrrrriiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhhhhhtttttttt. Well, if that's the case, then I guess I won't be calling it to let her know if we manage to get the kids or not.

OMG, while I was typing this I got a phone call. It was from the nanny agency that I occasionally do work for, I normally do little temp jobs for them. I am in the interviewing process at the moment with one company, as I said before. However, that will take a few weeks. The nanny position is only for a few weeks, too. It is a couple of elementary school girls, and their mother wants someone who will take them to the Zoo, and the library and stuff like that! Can you saw SWEET! 3 weeks of that, then jumping into the other position? Things are getting better all the time. I guess there really is nothing like a crisis to make you realize how good He is. {Thank you} Well, that makes me feel so much better! My stomach has actually stopped hurting! (I get a terrible stomach ache when I'm really upset or stressed. I think it may be an ulcer or something.) Anyway, that made me want to make you a nifty little freebie! How cool is that for you? lol. So here it is, a paper mini pack that is brown, teal, and pink, with spots and stripes. Enjoy!

Feeling rather studious...

So my husband and I are going to try to get our 6 nieces and nephews out of foster care in South Carolina- we live in Florida. (I won't go into the details here, lets just say that it's very long, and even more compicated.) Anyway, I have been spending the past few nights looking up everything that I can about how to go about doing it. I mean ANY loophole, and hoops that we can jump through that might increade our chances, ANYTHING. I think I might have found something, too! All we have to do is move into a larger home, become certified foster parents, file with the States of Florida and South Carolina for special placement, and then cross our fingers, pray harder than we've ever prayed, and hope that they get transferred before the oldest turns 18 in 6 years. Yeah, I'm serious. But I have contacted a lawyer in South Carolina for legal advice, and I have also contacted their case worker. Hopefully someone actually contacts me back. Grr.

I am also in the process of getting a new job. I had to leave my last job because I went into labor with my son a few weeks early (AT work!) and it wasn't worth returning to with 2 children to support, possibly 8 (hopefully *says short prayer*). So I am going through the application/assesment process with one company right now, and pursuing a potential work at home career that a friend has turned me onto. (she is going to have her first child soon, and needed something to stay home with the baby. She said that it's a great opportunity, and it didn't cost a dime. I'm game for anything right now! lol)

Ok, enough about my boring life. lol. I made a little freebie for you. By little, I mean it is 1 sticker, and 1 doodle. The sticker is something that my 2 best friends and I always drew on everything in junior and senior high school. I miss those girls! The doodle is the ever popular "I {heart} SOS" (SOS being some one special) that I think the entire class of 2004 girls wrote on their hands and notebooks. Hope you like them. :)

A layout- and a QP freebie!

So I decided to play around with my kit, Mouse Ears. I made a page that I thought was so good looking, I turned it into a QP for you! I hope that you enjoy it!


Everything on the QP is from the kit "Mouse Ears", made entirely by me, using the font "Walt Disney Script" and "Mickey Ears Extra", both freeware fonts. You can download the quick page Here.

Salutations, and a freebie to boot!

I have always loved how Charlotte just popped in one day and greeted Wilbur all nonchalantly. I haven't seen the new movie yet, but I have loved the book Charlotte's Web since I was old enough to read it. Anywho, I am Heather, and I am a Scrappin' Mommy. :) I have 2 lovely children, Aeris- 13 months, and Atty- 1 month. I also have a wonderful husband, Chris, to whom I have been married to for 2 years, 3 months (but I'm not counting ;P ) We have been together since I was in ninth grade, although there was a time in there when he was in South Carolina with his father, and we both saw other people. Actually, I got engaged to someone else who turned out not to be such a good match for me, but that's all over but the hurting now.

Well, I have decided to try my hand at making digital scrapbooking pieces. Here is my FIRST attempt. It includes 3 papers, 1 chipboard alpha in 3 colors/designs, 3 paper mats, 7 brads, and 9 ribbons. (Not everything is shown in preview) I know that there are PLENTY of people out there who can make better computer pieces than I can, but I hope that you like them. They are, of course, based off of the world's most famous mouse. :)
