New puppy!
My hubby got me a puppy the other day. I named her Ezrie {Dax}. The name is from Star Trek: Deep Space 9. My fave Dax is actually Jhedzia, but try getting a 3 and 4 year old to say THAT one! lol. She's a lab mix. ♥
New book I made- Sock monkeys!
Yay! I made a sock monkey journal! It's 400 pages (front and back) and measures 9x14. The paper inside is lined in lilac and black, formatted and printed by my on crisp white paper. It is hand sewn together with cotton thread and glued into a hard case binding. I am very pleased with the way that this book turned out. :)
And they're mailed!
Yay! The post office was very smooth. I actually used the click and ship from their website, and just had to go drop it off. Priority shipping and flat rate shipping are wonderful! The books were too big as a set to fit in the small flat rate box, but the medium priority box was only a few cents more! Yay! For padding I remembered that something I got in the mail was padded with bags of air, and I didn't like how much bubble wrap costs, so I used a ziplock bag! lol. I puffed it up with air and filled up the other half of the box with it. Talk about economical! It was a PERFECT fit with that in there. Oh, and I reused the box, as well! :) Win-win-win for me today! AND I finished another book and am working on 2 sets of 4 cahiers that I have been watning to make, and I htink I'll have them finished in the hour! Whoot!

This is a matching set of journals for a family of three. :) I REALLY like how they turned out- they were also my first books made with hard spines! I'm pretty proud of myself!

I guess I have a somewhat bad habit of not posting for a while, but life just gets in the way sometimes. This time, as usual after a long hiatus, I have quite a bit of updating to do. :)
I have recently quit my job to be a full-time stay at home mommy. It makes me quite happy, but I'm still not in the best routine, which I am working on. We know that we love to use the Color Wonders first thing in the morning! Ha ha! I get to cook whatever I want, whenever I want, because there is no rushing to get something done before work, or even before bed, really. I mean, I try to go to bed at a decent time, but how many people ACTUALLY get to? My hubby has to be in at 4 most morning, so I try to have dinner OVER WITH before 8, but sometimes that just doesn't happen. That's life, though, right?
I have learned something new- book binding! I LOVE it! Here is a picture of one of the books that I recently made. I will post a few more pictures, too.
We have decided that we are going to buy some land next year, and are working toward that. Once we have the land we will start building onto it, but we are going to try not to bulldoze it or anything. We are going to try and keep it as natural as possible. (I know, sometimes that just doesn't work out.) I get to have my own little workshop, and I am going to fence in the area in front of it, and put in a playyard for the kids and maybe even a dog run for Chewie! I'm REALLY excited! We might put up a building for gaming. lol. An entire area dedicated to playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. What fun!
